In 59 years of living, Joan Marie took the best photos I ever had taken! I emailed her on a Thursday afternoon for headshots to be used in a professional job announcement. Minutes later, she responded and provided the different packages and her availability. I settled on a package, and she accommodated my availability for the shoot to take place the next day. She then emailed me a detailed overview of what to wear and how to determine what colors would complement my skin tone. I followed her suggestions in selecting what to wear. I arrived for my appointment, and she greeted me with a smile. I entered her studio and was immediately struck by the professional yet welcoming atmosphere, with gentle, soft music playing in the background. This environment made me feel at ease and comfortable. She explained her plan and asked me what type of image I wanted to reflect in my photo, and I told her that I was welcoming and confident. She then gave me options of available backgrounds and poses and began to walk me through the shoot. She snapped many photos in different poses and walked me through each as I selected the ones I wanted her to touch up. She asked me how quickly I needed the images, and I told her by the middle of the following week. To my surprise, before the weekend ended, I was startled to find an email from her with the pictures. Oh my God, was I pleased with the results? I could hardly believe the images were of me! They were professional; my image conveyed dignity, strength, poise, confidence, and warmth, everything I wanted to communicate in the job announcement.
