Newborn Photography for Growing Families: Welcoming Baby Kennedy to the World

As a photographer, I don’t just capture images; I document the evolution of a growing family. Sometimes they are in my Scotch Plains NJ Studio and other times we do lifestyle newborn photography sessions at home.
Having families return to me for their growing family’s newborn photography is a gift I never take for granted. It is deeply moving to meet a new little one, but it’s equally special to “re-meet” the older sibling. Usually, the last time I saw them, they were only a few days old—swaddled, sleepy, and tiny. Seeing who they’ve become is a reminder of how quickly time moves and how vital these milestones truly are.
Lifestyle Newborn Photography and a Special Reunion with Big Brother
For this session, I was reunited with Big Brother. The last time I saw him, he was just a little “Baby Fox” himself! Seeing him step into his new role was such a joy.
Of course, life has a funny way of throwing curveballs at us. Just 24 hours before our session, this little man took a tumble and ended up with a classic childhood souvenir: a bright shiner! While I am a huge proponent of documenting life exactly as it is—bruises, messy hair, and all—I also know how to work a little “magic” in the editing room when a parent wants a polished look. Whether we keep the “battle wound” or smooth it over, it’s all part of their unique story.
The Power of the Family Film
This sweet family opted for an in-home newborn session with a family film add-on. I have to be honest: I am so happy they did.
Lately, film has completely captured my heart. While a photo freezes a moment, a film captures the feeling—the sound of a newborn’s coo, the way a big brother giggles, and the quiet movement of a mother rocking her child. It adds a whole new level of sentimentality to the gallery. I am so passionate about these films and hope to document many more for my families in the future.
Welcome to the World, Kennedy
Without further ado, I am so proud to introduce Baby Kennedy. She was the most easy-going, sweet little girl throughout our entire time together.
To Mom and Dad: thank you. I love your family dearly, and I am so incredibly thankful for your loyalty and your trust in my work. It is an honor to be your storyteller.
