A Dreamy Newborn Model Call: Meeting Baby Freya in Scotch Plains
Every once in a while, a session comes along that reminds me exactly why I love being a newborn photographer in Scotch Plains. Recently, I put out a model call to test some new poses and creative setups, and I was lucky enough to meet the beautiful baby Freya.
Patience is Key If there is one thing I’ve learned about newborn photography, it’s that the baby is always the boss! Miss Freya wasn’t quite “feeling it” for the first couple of hours of our session (we’ve all been there, right?). But with a little patience and a lot of soothing, she finally settled into a deep sleep. Once she was out, she was an absolute dream to work with, allowing me to capture those peaceful, curled-up shots we all adore.
The “Happy Accident” Backdrop I have a little secret about this session: the backdrop you see in these photos is actually the underside of a patterned fabric! I decided to flip it over on a whim to see how the texture looked on camera, and I am not mad about it. In fact, it might be my new favorite look. It provided the perfect neutral, organic feel to highlight Freya’s incredible features.
Blonde Beauty Can we talk about her hair for a second? Freya had the most stunning blonde hair—it was so light it was practically white! It caught the light beautifully in every shot.
Welcome to the World, Freya It was such a joy to meet Freya and her wonderful parents. Thank you for trusting me to capture these early memories and for being so patient while we waited for the magic to happen. I am absolutely in love with how these turned out!
